Beautiful Wet Walk led by an Experienced Naturalist Join us on this mesmerizing wet walk into a cypress canopy dome forest. Have the chance to see the amazing flora like ferns, bromeliads, and orchids! This is an immersive nature experience into the wilds of the real Everglades. It will take place in Fakahatchee, often referred to as the "Amazon of North America," or in Big Cypress National Preserve, the spectacular western Everglades. This wilderness is home to the Florida panther, black bear, Florida bobcat, an incredible variety of turtles and fish, a wide array of bird species, alligators and more! Your guide will describe the critical role of water flow in shaping the historic Everglades; and will explain its role in current conservation efforts.

60 to 70 minuteAir Boat Trip way out in the "River of Grass" region of the real Everglades We partner with a Native family company guide to explore way far from land in this incredibly vast wilderness. On this VIP trip, we get off at a Native tree island or two where they used to live, and explore. Learn why the Native peoples inhabited these areas, and experience the authentic beauty of their remote way of life. This is a chance to experience all kinds of wildlife, amidst a seemingly endless landscape!

80-minute Boat Trip way out in the 10,000 Islands Region of Everglades National Park Embark on this super exhilarating boat trip out through the 10,000 Islands system of Everglades National Park. We take you beyond all the other boat trips out there, so we can witness the vast array of bird species, including the roseate spoonbill, white pelican, and all of the shore birds on remote beaches. Get off on a remote island to explore, while listening to the fascinating lore of the Old Everglades from your multi-generational captain guide. This is your chance to possibly see dolphins jumping out of the water, manatees, the critically endangered sawtooth fish, and more!

  • Coming from Naples or other areas on the west coast of Florida? We will meet you and pick you up at the Walmart near the intersection of Collier Blvd. and the Tamiami Trail (also known as US41) - at 6650 Collier Blvd, in Naples. Or we will meet you and pick you up at the Publix, at the Shops of Marco, at 175 S. Barfield Dr. in Marco Island.

Meet-up Discount:
How to get the meet-up discount?
You can get the meet-up discount by simply letting us know that you will be meeting us (in your reservation you make online through our site) or by giving us a call. If we take your reservation over the phone, we will put it in manually right away. If you book through our site, we will refund you for it ($20) on your credit card or in cash on the day of the tour. We can not offer a meetup discount if you booked through a third party.

Generally, this is possible if you have a 7 p.m. flight or later from Miami, and a 8 p.m. or later flight from Fort Lauderdale. We want to make sure we get you there 2 hours before your flight. Why not get a great tour and transportation all in one!?

  • If you are looking to travel from the west coast to Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, or the Keys after the tour, we suggest you go on Tour 2 that is listed under "Tours from Miami / Ft. Lauderdale."
  • One option is to drive and meet us at the start-up location with that tour, and we will take you back to that location after the tour.
  • You can then continue your journey to the east coast or the Keys from there. That location is not that far from the Turnpike entrance that takes you south to Homestead or the Keys.
  • This tour is great for transitioning from the west to the east coast!

FAQ

What should I bring?

You need to bring a change of clothes. We have bags for your wet clothes. We recommend wearing pants for the walk. Light Columbia type pants are great, but really any kind will work. We have walking sticks for you. We have towels for you too. We will have a few dry bags for the group, but if you want to bring a dry bag to carry your phone or anything else, you can as well. We have water shoes. But some prefer to simply wear old sneakers. Old sneakers are great because you know they fit your feet well! They don't get ruined; they just get wet.

How much should you tip your boat captain guides?

Typically, like $5 per person on shared tours. On a private, it's up to your discretion. Thank you.

What's a typical tip for a Wild Lime guide?

Whatever you think sounds reasonable. There is no set amount. Some guests tip like $10 or $20 per person. Tipping is customary and much appreciated, although not mandatory. We can send you your guide's Venmo or Zelle handle upon request. Thank you for considering!

Can I get a discount through a third party seller?

No. Unfortunately, we can only provide the direct booking discount and the meet-up discount for direct bookings.

Is it a hard walk?

No, not really. There are some steps-ups and step-downs and it is a bit uneven at times, but otherwise it is flat and it is not that far of a walk. The water is quite pristine. It's not a mud slog! We call it a wet walk, not a swamp walk, for a reason.

Are there mosquitoes?

Surprisingly, many parts of the year there are not usually too many mosquitoes, if any. There can be mosquitoes though in the summer to early fall months, some years more than others. We have mosquito repellent if you need some.

What kind of clothes should I wear?

Please see the question above about what to bring for the wet walk. In general, it is typically quite warm from April through November, so light clothes are best. In the winter months, it can get surprisingly cool out there, so a light jacket or a sweater is sometimes a good idea, since it can get breezy out on the boats. Dress comfortably.

What is the minimum age requirement?

5 years old for shared tours but no minimum for private tours.
