FAQ
What should I bring?
Some people bring a hat or sunglasses. We have some dry bags for guest use, but you can bring your own. Bring a change of clothes. We have towels for you if you want to use ours.
What's a typical tip your guide?
Whatever you think sounds reasonable. There is no set amount. Some guests tip like $15 or $20 per person. Tipping is customary and much appreciated, although not mandatory. We can send you your guide's Venmo or Zelle handle upon request. Thank you for considering!
Can I get a discount when reserving through a third-party seller?
No. Unfortunately, we can only provide the direct booking discount and the meet-up discount for direct bookings.
What kind of experience do I need for the kayak trip?
You don't need much experience at all. Even if it's your first time, you can do it! If you are inexperienced, we will put you in a double kayak, so you have someone else to help paddle too. We'll give you some helpful tips, and we'll be near to you the whole way!
What kind of clothes should I wear?
A bathing suit is great for the snorkeling part of the trip. Same for the kayaking or paddle boarding part. Bring a change of clothes so you're comfortable for the trip back. If it's a chillier day, a sweatshirt is ideal for the boat trip back.
Should I prepare for possibly getting seasick?
Some people swear by seasickness medications or wrist pressure bands. For some guests, these methods are not needed. We will avoid going out if there are rough conditions.
Does this trip ever need to be cancelled?
We monitor a few different marine forecasts and atmospheric weather forecasts in the days leading up to the tour. If we feel the conditions are not conducive to a pleasurable and safe experience, we will notify our guests before the tour that it needs to be cancelled. We will try to provide alternate days the tour will go out when the weather is better. But if that is not possible, either for us or the guest, we will refund you in full right away. If part of a trip needs to be cancelled after starting the tour due to the marine forecast, or for any other reason, we will try to find an alternate activity or boating excursion to replace that part that was cancelled. If we choose an alternate activity, there will be no full or partial refund for the tour. This type of "while on the tour" cancellation or alteration rarely happens though.
What is the minimum age?
The minimum age for this trip is 7. Some of our other shared tours have a minimum age of 5. On some private tours, there is no minimum age.
