FAQ
What should I bring?
We provide a lot of things, so you don't really have to bring much.
Some people bring a hat or sunglasses. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
How much should I tip the boat captain guide?
Typically, like $5 per person for a shared tour. A private tour might be more like $10 per person.
How much is an appropriate tip for the Wild Lime guide?
Whatever you think sounds reasonable. There is no set amount. Tipping is customary. Our guides work hard and appreciate it. Thank you for considering!
Can I get a discount when reserving through a third-party seller?
No. Unfortunately, we can only provide the direct booking discount and the meet-up discount for direct bookings.
Can I bring a lunch or buy lunch?
We bring you back to Marco Island or Naples right around lunch time. But yes, we have a cooler, so if you do want to bring a sandwich, you can do that. You also have the opportunity to purchase lunch. The cost of lunch is not included. We also provide snacks, water and other drinks at no charge.
Is it a hard walk?
Absolutely not. It can be hot out there from April through October in particular, so we just make sure everyone has the opportunity to grab water. It's a great walk for any age.
Can we guarantee seeing various kinds of wildlife?
No. But the odds are quite good that we will see a lot! That's the beauty of being out in the wild - One never knows what they'll see in the Everglades! We don't believe in going to places with animals in cages and pens.
Are there mosquitoes?
Surprisingly, many parts of the year there are not usually too many mosquitoes, if any. There can be mosquitoes though in the summer to early fall months, some years more than others. We have mosquito repellent if you need some.
What kind of clothes should I wear?
From April through early November, it can get pretty hot out there! So, just dress comfortably. Shorts and a T-shirt are fine. Comfortable walking shoes are a must. In the winter it can be warm too, but it can also get chilly sometimes, and we will be out on a boat for at least an hour. So, if it is a chilly day, bring a sweater or light jacket.
Is there a minimum age requirement?
Yes. It's 5 years old for this shared tour, but no minimum age for private tours.
